Condition Assessment
Based on its leading role in an investigation for the National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP), McMahon & Mann has acquired a growing national reputation for its specialized work in the evaluation of existing infrastructures. This typically involves metallically stabilized earth, ground anchors, soil nails and tiebacks.
The projects, which have been conducted from New Hampshire to Nevada, encompass assessing and monitoring corrosion, integrity testing, load monitoring, non-destructive evaluations (NDE) through the use of electrochemical and mechanical tests, and estimating remaining service life. This type of research has attracted the attention of the Federal Highway Administration, for which the firm has prepared training materials and conducted seminars, as well as departments of transportation in various states.
