The Buffalo Bills planned to construct an addition to the New Era Field training facility in Orchard Park, New York. The Bills indicated that the addition would be a two-story building supported by shallow footings containing new equipment and facilities for training recovery therapy. The new addition was scheduled to have an area of approximately 22,500 square feet.

The Buffalo Bills requested that McMahon & Mann explore the subsurface conditions and prepare a report summarizing the conditions and providing foundation design and construction recommendations for the new addition.

McMahon & Mann’s foundation recommendations included supporting the new structure’s columns with spread footings and designing the building floor as a slab-on-grade. We also provided an allowable bearing pressure, excavation considerations, backfill recommendations, and final grading considerations.
