The Marcell Roth Dam is located in the California State Forest in eastern New York and is owned and maintained by the NYSDEC. The dam was constructed in the early 1960’s and is a 16-foot high, 200-foot long earthen dam. McMahon & Mann completed an engineering assessment for the dam including a dam safety inspection and a survey of the dam, the lake bottom and the downstream areas.

The Engineering Assessment Report included the results of the safety inspection, hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, stability and seepage analyses and identified deficiencies in the dam.

The report presented conceptual recommendations for remediation to bring the dam into compliance with current NYSDEC Guidelines.

McMahon & Mann prepared design plans and construction documents for remediation of the dam and provided an engineer on site to monitor construction. Upon completion of construction, we prepared a construction monitoring report and record plans.
